Inspero runs a Green Therapy session for adults and students every Friday. It is a time where people can come together to garden and enjoy each other’s company in a friendly outside environment.
Green Therapy helps all kinds of people: retired, bereavement, disabilities, mental health or just looking for somewhere to socialise and garden. For some people it is an important part of their lives, and they come every Friday to this ‘haven’ as part of their wellbeing.
It’s all about sharing, re-cycling and up-cycling, learning about growing and cooking food, organic companion gardening and developing a sense of community by meeting new people and making friends.
Many get a deep satisfaction from “watching things grow up from seed”, as gardening is a very therapeutic pastime. These Green Therapy sessions allow people to do this in the company of others, in a safe volunteering environment helping in the community and giving others a better quality of life.
