Community Gardens

Community gardens are great places to become more active, get fit, learn new skills and meet new friends. Inspero have two community gardens in Basingstoke which have transformed areas of urban wasteland into beautiful green spaces that can be enjoyed by everyone.

Our Bardwell Close community garden is a peaceful space in the middle of a busy housing area, South Ham. It is a gated garden shared with local residents who have an interest in gardening.

At our community gardens we grow lots of different types of food including; vegetables, herbs and fruit. Everything is grown organically and we use a lot of companion planting to keep the pests away.

Food is grown primarily for our Food Hub & Community Shop and Children’s Cooking Club programme – Love2Cook, volunteers who would like to take food home or shared out amongst local people. Some produce is also sold to the public at affordable prices.
